SC Life in the Balance with the Budget.

Josh Kimbrell May 12, 2011 2 min read

On “Spiritual Cents” this morning, I told you that I would publish the roll call for the SC Senate’s vote on the state budget, which still includes state funding for abortion. The current budget proposal provides funding under the SC state health insurance program to cover abortion services. A truly pro-life legislator ought to have grave concerns voting for a budget that contains such a provision.

The SC State Senators voting in the affirmative are as follows:
Alexander, Thomas C.
Anderson, Ralph
Campbell, Paul G., Jr.
Cleary, Raymond E., III
Coleman, Creighton B.
Courson, John E.
Elliott, Dick
Ford, Robert
Gregory, Chauncey K.
Hutto, C. Bradley
Knotts, John M., Jr.
Land, John C., III
Leatherman, Hugh K., Sr.
Leventis, Phil P.
Lourie, Joel
Malloy, Gerald
Martin, Larry A.
Matthews, John W., Jr.
McConnell, Glenn F.
Nicholson, Floyd
Peeler, Harvey S., Jr.
Pinckney, Clementa C.
Rankin, Luke A.
Ryberg, W. Greg
Scott, John L., Jr.
Setzler, Nikki G.

IF ONE OF THE ABOVE IS YOUR STATE SENATOR, PLEASE CONTACT THEM AND TELL THEM TO VOTE “NO” ON ANY BUDGET PROPOSAL THAT STILL CONTAINS TAXPAYER FUNDING FOR ABORTION THROUGH THE STATE HEALTH INSURANCE PROGRAM.

The SC State Senators voting AGAINST the measure are as follows:
Bright, Lee
Bryant, Kevin L.
Campsen, George E., III
Cromer, Ronnie W.
Davis, Tom
Fair, Michael L.
Grooms, Lawrence K.
Hayes, Robert W., Jr.
Jackson, Darrell
Martin, Shane R.
Massey, A. Shane
McGill, J. Yancey
O’Dell, William H.
Reese, Glenn G.
Rose, Michael T.
Sheheen, Vincent A.
Shoopman, Phillip W.
Thomas, David L.
Verdin, Daniel B., III
Williams, Kent M.

PLEASE THANK THESE SENATORS FOR VOTING “NO” ON THIS MEASURE, AND TELL THEM THAT YOU ARE IN SUPPORT OF THEIR DECISION BECAUSE YOU STAND FOR LIFE IN SOUTH CAROLINA.

I thank you for contacting these senators to stand for life in South Carolina.
God Bless,

Josh Kimbrell
