Remembering the Emmanuel 9

Josh Kimbrell June 18, 2016 1 min read

Yesterday our state marked the one year anniversary of a deranged gunman, motivated by racial animus, killing nine of our fellow citizens in Charleston. This act of hatred was intended to cower the people of Charleston, and divide the people of our state along racial lines. Evil did not prevail, however, because of the power of Christ’s love and forgiveness. Evil was overcome by good, as the victims’ faith, and the faith of their families, showed all of us that someone may take our lives, but they can never take our freedom in Christ. God bless Charleston, and our great State. We will never forget the Emmanuel 9.
